What is important to teens?

Driving Vision Standards (only mandatory vison requirements will be mentioned)

driving, car, car drivingIn Ontario all drivers must meet basic medical and vision standards to operate a motor vehicle. Higher standards apply for those driving a commercial vehicle.

Individuals who currently possess a class G (personal car or truck) or M (motorcycle) licence must have a visual acuity as measured by Snellen Rating that is not worse than 20/50 with both eyes open and examined together, with or without the use of corrective lenses, AND a horizontal visual field of at least 120 continuous degrees along the horizontal meridian and at least 15 continuous degrees above and below fixation, with both eyes open and examined together.

For other classes of licence,  A (tractor trailer), B (school bus), C (motor coach), D (dump truck), E (school bus, and F (ambulance)- a visual acuity of not worse than 20/30 with both eyes open and examined together, with or without the use of corrective lenses, with the worse eye not poorer than 20/100 AND a horizontal visual field of 150 continuous degrees along the horizontal meridian and 20 continuous degrees above and below fixation, with both eyes open and examined together.
